Duke will not have one of their primary weapons on offense when the season begins.
Wide receiver Jake Bobo fractured his right clavicle during a recent practice and is out indefinitely, the school announced in a statement on Friday.
Bobo sustained the injury on Thursday and underwent surgery the next day.
The Belmont, Mass., native was a projected starter at wide receiver for the Blue Devils, who were already thin at the position after a number of high profile departures.
Bobo had 10 catches for 167 yards and a touchdown in 13 appearances last season.
Going forward, Duke will rely more heavily on Aaron Young, who missed much of the 2018 campaign with injury, and tight end Noah Gray.
Duke opens their football season against Alabama on Aug. 31.
