Columbus, Ohio - Ohio State quarterback J.T. Barrett was carted off the field Saturday as the No. 6 Buckeyes host arch-rival Michigan after sustaining a lower leg injury.
Barrett, a Heisman Trophy contender in recent weeks, was injured on the first play of the fourth quarter after being bent backward by a Michigan defensive tackle on a rush attempt up the middle.
An inflatable cast was put on Barrett's leg before being taken to the team's locker room. He gave the record crowd of 108,610 a thumbs-up as he left the field.
Cardale Jones (Cleveland-Glenville) entered the contest for the Buckeyes (10-1), who lead Michigan 28-21 halfway through the final quarter.
