INDIANAPOLIS - Free agent running back Daniel "Boom" Herron will stay with the Colts after signing a tender offer that will keep him in Indy for at least another year.
Herron emerged as the Colts' backfield option last season after Trent Richardson started to fade, notching 56 rushing yards and a touchdown in a postseason victory over the Bengals, with whom Herron originally signed out of Ohio State before being released.
He has 389 career rushing yards over three seasons, adding three touchdowns, including a career-best 49 yard scamper against the Redskins on Nov. 30. He adds 230 receiving yards on 22 catches.
