Eagles leading Redskins 14-10 at halftime

LANDOVER, Md. - After surrendering the lead in the NFC East last Sunday to Dallas, the Philadelphia Eagles need to end their season with two straight victories and the Cowboys and Lions two defeats to get a whiff at the postseason.

A late season meeting with 3-win Washington seemed a proper occasion to get the job done.

But the Redskins were a game eleven in the first thirty minutes, posting an early field goal off an Eagles turnover, and striking on a touchdown with 39 seconds left in the first quarter, the end of which produced a 10-7 Redskins lead.

The Eagles would retake the lead in the second as Riley Cooper produced a 3 yard touchdown reception to conclude a 90 yard drive as they hold 14-10 lead over the Washington Redskins on Saturday.

McCoy slashed for 22 yards through the middle and cut into open grass to start the second quarter off right for the Eagles, and Darren Sproles scurried over right end for 12 yards into Redskins territory.

But Philly tackle Lane Johnson was called for holding and Trevardo Williams sacked Mark Sanchez, the quarterback's third, giving the Birds a 3rd-and-25.

Which was no trouble for Jordan Matthews, who snagged a pass in triple coverage for the inch-perfect conversion. Darren Sproles repeated the formula with a screen-play that erased a 3rd-and-15, and again on a 2nd-and-4 rush to the Redskins 8, setting up Cooper.

Sanchez finished 17-of-23 for 172 yards. Jeremy Maclin has 44 yards on 3 catches and LeSean McCoy carried 13 times for 169 yards and a score.

Griffin went 7-for-12 on 95 yards passing as Washington floundered on two possessions during the second, both punted away. He was sacked by Eagles linebacker Mychael Kendricks as the Redskins allow the most sacks in the league (54).

LeSean McCoy and Alfred Morris exchanged rushing touchdowns in the first quarter. Former Eagle DeSean Jackson brought in a 51 yard reception on the Redskins' scoring drive and Mark Sanchez lost a fumble for the Eagles' league-worst 34th turnover.

Philadelphia (9-5) is seeking their first win in three attempts.
