LAKE FOREST, Ill. - Bears wide receiver Brandon Marshall was released from an area hospital Monday after spending four days there with two fractured ribs and a collapsed lung.
He has been placed on the team's season-ending injured reserve list.
The five-time Pro Bowl selection sustained those injuries in the Bears' Thursday night meeting with the Cowboys at Soldier Field. Safety Barry Church inadvertently kneed Marshall in the back when he caught a 15 yard 4th-and-7 converting pass.
Marshall secured 61 receptions for 721 yards this season, the fewest since his rookie campaign with Denver. He shared the lead on the team with 8 touchdowns.
The team signed Josh Bellamy from their practice squad to replace the starter.
Bellamy, out of Illinois, played in nine contests over three years with the Chiefs, Redskins, and Bears. He featured on the Chargers' practice squad one year ago.
