MADISON, Wis. - Wisconsin tailback Melvin Gordon says he will put his name down for the 2015 NFL Draft.
Gordon, a finalist for the 80th Heisman Trophy Award, announced the decision to Dan Patrick on his radio show Wednesday.
He led the Football Bowl Subdivision this season with 2,336 yards rushing and holds a tie with the most touchdowns among collegiate backs (26).
The Kenosha, Wisconsin, native held the record for the most rushing yards in a contest when he gained 408 yards in a victory over Nebraska Nov. 15th. That mark would only last seven days, however, until being broken by Oklahoma's Samaje Perine (427, against Kansas).
His 241 rushes were the least needed in college football history to gain 2,000 yards on the ground.
Wisconsin will face the Auburn Tigers Jan. 1st in the Outback Bowl.
