Eagles down Titans 43-24, face Cowboys next

Philadelphia, Pa. - Mark Sanchez and the Eagles rattled off 13 straight points in the second half to defeat the Tennessee Titans 43-24 Sunday afternoon.

Philadelphia (8-3) scored 30 points for the seventh time this season and face the Cowboys on Thanksgiving to defend their first-place spot in the NFC East.


They jumped out to a quick 17-0 lead after Josh Huff returned the opening kickoff 107 yards and Darren Sproles added for the Eagles from 4 yards out.


Mark Sanchez finished 30-of-43 for 307 yards passing, a touchdown and two interceptions.


Zach Mettenberger and the Titans responded in the second quarter when Justin Hunter took a tipped pass 40 yards for the touchdown to end a drive that began on a Sanchez interception. 


Shonn Greene rushed from 2 yards out five minutes later to bring the visitors within 20-14, but the Eagles took a 27-17 lead into the half after LeSean McCoy rushed for a 2 yard score.


LeSean McCoy rushed 21 times for 130 yards and the score for the Eagles.


Philadelphia outscored the Titans 16-7 in the second half as Mark Sanchez led a drive capped off by a 14 yard scoring toss to James Casey. 


Cody Parkey kicked five times for Philadelphia, including a 50 yarder when the game was in hand, though his 49 yard attempt went left with 2 seconds remaining in the first half.


Dexter McCluster added for Music City's Titans (2-9) in the final session, grabbing a 4th-and-Goal toss and bowling into the end zone for the 6 yard score. 


Zach Mettenberger completed 20 of his 39 passes for 345 yards, two scores and an interception, his first-career game with 300 passing yards. He was intercepted by Brandon Boykin with two-minutes left in the game and was sacked five times for 46 lost yards.


Trent Cole and Connor Barwin met the quarterback twice and end Fletcher Cox added another. 


Delanie Walker finished with 155 yards on 5 receptions for Tennessee.
