Eagles leading Titans 27-17 at halftime

Philadelphia, Pa. - What began as a likely rout by the host Eagles Sunday afternoon has become a close contest as the they enter the halftime break leading the Titans 27-17.

Mark Sanchez is 19-of-27 for 195 yards passing and an interception in the half for the Eagles.

Philadelphia (7-3) had jumped out to a 17-0 lead after Josh Huff returned the opening kickoff 107 yards and Darren Sproles rushed for a 4 yard score.

But Mark Sanchez threw an interception to end the first quarter after corner Brandon Ghee stepped in front of Riley Cooper to the Eagles 30.

Tennessee (2-8) would take over and get on the board when Zach Mettenberger threw a 40 yard touchdown to Justin Hunter. The pass was tipped by safety Malcolm Jenkins, but into the hands of Hunter, streaking across the field and down the sideline for the score.

Mettenberger followed with a 68 yard catch-and-run to Delanie Walker after the tight end came open to the left side and raced down to the Eagles 13. Tennessee ventured two rushes up the middle for 5 more and on 3rd-and-5, following their time-out, Mettenberger was brought down by Vinny Curry.

But the linebacker was flagged for grabbing the quarterback’s face mask in the process, giving the visitors possession on the Eagles 4 and a 1st-and-Goal.

Shonn Greene rushed to the 2 and on the next play spun through the middle for the score, bringing the Titans within 20-14.

Mettenberger finished the half 8-of-15 for 170 yards passing and a touchdown.

Philadelphia would extend matters to their 27-14 advantage after driving 69 yards in 10 plays. Sanchez found Zach Ertz for 20 yards on a 3rd-and-2 and again for 9 more on a 3rd-and-4 conversion. He floated a 21 yard toss to Riley Cooper to the Titans 2.

Sanchez rushed to the line and dished to McCoy for the 2 yard touchdown. McCoy rushed 14 times for 100 yards and the score.

But Zach Mettenberger would bring the Titans to the Eagles 2 again on a drive inside the two-minute warning. He slinged two passes of 21 yards, to Delanie Walker and Nate Washington. Bishop Sankey rushed 15 more to the Eagles 5.

Ryan Succop kicked from 20 yards after the Titans failed on a rush and two passes in three goal-to-go plays.

Jordan Matthews gained 77 yards on 6 catches for the Eagles and Delanie Walker caught two receptions for 89 yards for the Titans.

Cody Parkey kicked for the 19th and 20th times this season, from 32 and 26 yards for Philadelphia, but hooked a 49 yarder with 2 seconds left in the half.
