Philadelphia, Pa. - Minnesota and Philadelphia are scoreless after the first period of play Thursday night.

Brayden Schenn failed on a wrap-around for Philadelphia two-minutes into the game, deflected easily off Darcy Keumper's right pad and Wayne Simmonds' one-timer at the 16-minute mark was deflected right.

Claude Giroux struck from between the circles and was deflected out of play and a minute later, Zac Rinaldo tried a wrister that bounced off Keumper's right pad.

Minnesota took the man-advantage at 8:32 after Pierre-Edouard Bellemare was called for hooking Zach Parise, but Ray Emery kept the Wild off the board for two minutes after facing one shot.

Nick Schultz sat for two minutes at 13:16 after shooting the puck over the glass, and both sides played 4-on-4 hockey after R.J. Umberger (Philadelphia) and Keith Ballard (Minnesota) were both called for fighting behind the Wild net at 17:10 after a Flyers' shooting flurry seconds before.

Ray Emery stopped 6-of-6 after twenty minutes in relief of Steve Mason after the starter suffered a 2-0 defeat to the New York Rangers last evening at Madison Square Garden.

Darcy Keumper stopped all 14 shots he faced for Minnesota.

Eric Lindros and John LeClair were inducted into the Flyers Hall of Fame prior to the game tonight. They, along with Mikael Renberg, formed the famed Philly’s “Legion of Doom” forward line of the 1990s.

Philadelphia is suffering a three-game skid coming into the night and Minnesota enjoying a three-game win streak, though are 2-7-0 all time when playing in Philadelphia.
