UCLA handling USC 38-14 after three quarters

Pasadena, Ca. - Paul Perkins and Brett Hundley have rushed for touchdowns as the UCLA Bruins lead their rival USC Trojans 38-14 after three quarters in the Rose Bowl Saturday night.

Perkins, now the best yardage rusher in the Pac-12, ran into an open field field from 10 yards to end an 84 yard drive that opened the third session. Perkins rushed

Hundley found Mossi Johnson on a 20 yard catch-and-run, the end of which gave the Bruins 15 extra yards after Johnson’s face mask was pulled. From the USC 15, Hundley pulled the option give from Perkins’ belly and raced up the middle untouched for the score.

That score was Hundley’s fifth rushing in his career against USC.

Hundley is 19-of-28 on 280 yards passing, three touchdowns and an interception.

He threw a 10 yard touchdown to Devin Lucien and from 13 yards with 14 seconds left in the first half to Deldridge Massington. His 57 yarder to Thomas Duarte in the first quarter gave the Bruins their first lead.

Paul Perkins has rushed 21 times for 83 yards and a touchdown for the Bruins (8-2, 5-2).

UCLA is winning the battle in the trenches, holding the former conference-leading rusher Javorius Allen to 52 yards on 13 attempts and sacking Cody Kessler 4 times for 28 lost yards.

Cody Kessler completed 14 of 25 passes for 157 yards in a scoreless fifteen minutes for USC (7-3).
