If anybody needed a friend in the NFL injuries department this young preseason, it's the Washington Redskins.
DeSean Jackson got taken out by a tackle dummy. Bashaud Breeland sprained his MCL. David Amerson is still out. Niles Paul will miss the season after dislocating his ankle. Logan Paulsen will sit out after a toe operation. Jordan Reed strained his hamstring in Cleveland.
Now, on Sunday, the Redskins learned they may be without another important cog in their secondary after the final training camp session in Richmond, Va.
Veteran cornerback DeAngelo Hall was being evaluated by trainers in relation to a possible left toe injury, according to multiple reports.
Hall sustained a groin injury on August 6 when Washington hosted Houston in a joint training camp practice that was filmed for HBO's "Hard Knocks" but returned without incident.
The seriousness, or lack thereof, of Hall's injury remains up in the air, but the team will have a day off before returning to Redskins Park in Ashburn to resume practice on Tuesday to find out. Hall, an 11-year campaigner, sat out most of last season after tearing his Achilles tendon in a Week 3 game at the Eagles. He re-aggravated that injury while recovering at home, and the team was counting on him to lead what they hoped was a rejuvenated secondary unit this coming year.
