The Redskins' fragile receiving corps may have just taken a major hit.
In a joint practice with the Texans, who also brought HBO's "Hard Knocks" show with them, wide receiver DeSean Jackson collided with a blocking dummy on the first play of the 1 drills. He stayed down for a few minutes and was looked at by trainers before walking off the field himself.
After practice was over, however, the Redskins reportedly told him he would be out for a few weeks with what they called a separated shoulder.
His absence will create a sizeable hole as the team looks to start over with quarterback Robert Griffin III, who so far has impressed in camp as he also looks to come back from an injury-plagued season.
Jackson said in recent days that no defensive back currently alive could stop him. An immobile blocking sled, however, apparently can.
The Redskins also learned that veteran cornerback DeAngelo Hall will miss up to a week after he suffered what was described as a groin tweak. Hall is coming off an Achilles tear from last season which he re-injured while recouperating at home. Hall is expected to be the leader of the Redskins' defensive secondary unit this season.
Whether or not Jackson's injury will feature in the Texans' "Hard Knocks" series remains to be seen.
