RGIII thankful for facing J.J. Watt only once

When the Houston Texans appeared in Richmond, Virgnia, to take part in a three-day joint practice with the Washington Redskins, there was one potential matchup most of those present wanted to see.

Luckily, for one of those involved, it didn't come often.

Robert Griffin III only had to face J.J. Watt once on Friday, much to the former's delight, but he's says he was more interested in seeing how his offensive linemen reacted to the matchup.

"He got to me one time today pretty quick," Griffin said of Watt. "It's good to see that he's had a great offseason, but from our standpoint, we're not really worried about that. Our guys look forward to going up against him every day to gauge what else it is they need to work on, so I think that's a good test for them."

Griffin distanced himself from a heavy responsibility in forming the cohesion of his front protection, however. That, he says, is the job of his coaches.

"It's important to know what's in front of you, but for those guys, it's much more important for them to be on the same page to be able to communicate," he said. "My job is not to pick the five up front. It's to pick apart the defense, so that's what I plan on doing."

He should care about their development a little more, perhaps. Griffin was sacked 33 times last season on only 214 pass attempts.
